During the Annual General Assembly held in Rome last May 20, 2010 Alessandro Sidoli was appointed new President of Assobiotec for the 3-years period 2010-2012.
During his opening speech, Alessandro Sidoli called the attention of the Italian Government on the challenging opportunities facing biotechnology, which deserve to be taken into higher consideration by setting-up a strategic plan involving the overall sector and by generating a suitable funding system as well, able to make Italy as more attractive as possible if compared also to the other European competitors.

Bio3 Research – a biopharmaceutical company based in Milan, Italy, with a USA subsidiary, Bio3 Research Inc. based in Hayward/CA. – has recently been granted from the Mexican Patent Office the patent No. PA/a/2003/008364 which claims the use of HMGB1 (High Mobility Group Box 1) inhibitors and antagonists for the treatment of vascular diseases comprising atherosclerotic-plaque progression and/or restenosis.
